baja summer

todays card is the color challenge over at scs. we had to use baja breeze, more mustard and melon mambo. i had no idea what to do, so i found a stamp that i could color. the set is summer by the sea. i used inkers and the aqua painter. thanks for looking.

tart cherries

my card today is the CAS challenge over at scs. i'm a very simple stamper so this was easy. the set is from su called tart and tangy. i used cherry cobbler and pear pizzazz markers. i added crystal effects to make the cherries shine. off to work this afternoon and school tomorrow. have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

new dishes

i had to work at sears today and redo the dinnerwear layout. 50 feet and had 4 to 6 shelves. we have lots of new dinnerwear,  they are mix and match.  but one pattern looks like this card. i didn't get the layout done so i will have to finish it tomorrow. then it's back to school on tuesday with kids coming back on wednesday. thanks for stopping by. my thank you is crooked, but it'a on with pop dots so i should be able to fix that.

a beautiful day

we had a beautiful day here in new hampshire. it was chilly this morning and warmed right up, how i do love the changing season. today was the day that my husband and i go out to breakfast and spend the morning doing errands around town.i saw some pretty black eyed susans and thought i would create some of my own. all products are from su. thanks for looking.

better late than never

this is a very late post. i had to be at work at 7 this morning. didn't leave until 4, did some errands and came home. this is for the free4 all challenge over at scs. you had to have snow on your card, and you were suppose to distress the card. i forgot all about that part of the challenge. this is a very old stamp set from su called a merry season. all of my post will probably be late in the coming weeks, because i will be back at school. the first couple of weeks are always fun, you are getting to know the kids and the routine.

Something Different

good morning, i'm trying something different today. it's the treehouse thursday challenge.  couldn't do the challenge at scs today so i found this one. it's to use fall colors. what better fall colors than the colors of leaves on a tree. all supplies are stampin us. i'm suppose to add links from my blog back to the treehouse website, not sure how to do that. so i'm just posting the card. fall is my favorite season, the colors, the smells and the weather. i just hate winter, snow, cold, driving. i wish we could have just 3 seasons, fall spring and summer. thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

party hats

here's the card i created for the sketch challenge over at scs. i go to work today at 10:30 and don't get home til 7. so i'm in a hurry to post this and finish getting ready for work. i finished my book yesterday and loved it. i've started a new one called horns byjoe hill. a guy wakes up from a night of drinking and he has sprouted devil's horns. he can also hear what people are thinking. so far so good, to bad i have to go to work or i would read all day. another dreary day here in nh. jamie is back from her honeymoon and coming back to work today, can't wait to hear about aruba. have a wonderful day everyone.

last tuesday

this is my last tuesday off, i don't work at sears on tuesday and next tuesday is my first day back at school. i've done a lot of challenges over the summer and have started this blog. i hope i can keep it up once school starts, maybe i will only be able to post on saturdays. that is my other day off from sears.  today's card is the color challenge over at scs. you had to use rich razzleberry, pacific point and old olive. when i first looked at the colors together i didn't like them, but when i finished the card i said these colors look great together. i used an embossing folder and some punches to put this all together. the weather is dreary today so i think it's a good day to try and finish the book i am reading. it's called still life and it's by joy fielding. casey was hit by a car, she has been in a coma for 3 weeks, she is finally awake in her body, no one knows that she is, she can hear everything around her but she can't move or body to let them know she's awake. the police think someone tried to kill her, it's very good so far. i usually love anything joy fielding writes. off to read. thanks for stopping by today.

i got my camera back

i'm so happy. tyler's stepfather brought my camera back. i couldn't wait to look at the wedding pictures. well i was disappointed, some of them are too far away, the picute of jamie is crooked. the camera is new and i'm not sure of all the settings. i really just bought it so i could take pictures of my cards and up load them. todays card is the clean and simple challenge over at scs. you had to use turquoise, kraft and white. this is what i came up with. off to work soon and school starts next week, might not be able to do many postings. i'll try.

Friday

today i made a card using 2 different stamp companies, it was the free for all challenge over at scs. it was a challenge, because most of my stamps are from su. we used to have a local store in town that sold stamping supplies but they closed. we do have a michael's but ours doesn't have much to choose from. i should really bite the bullet and order some on line, but i'm afraid someone will get my charge card number. i know, other people do order all the time. maybe one day. i've had really funny hours at work this week, and next week is even worse. i will be glad when school starts so i can work my regular 4 -9 shift.  off to work at 1. have a great day.

it didn't take as long

i used jenna's camera again today, it didn't take me nearly as long to upload the card today. maybe i am getting some of this computer stuff down. this is the color challenge from scs. you had to use always artichoke, pretty in pink and the new cherry cobbler, or colors close to those. those stampers at scs are sooo talented. i am a simple stamper nothing to fancy or flashy. if you get a chance go and check out some of their cards, they are beautiful. nothing going on today, did a couple loads of wash, cleaned out some cabinets, made this card, now i'm going to sit and read for a little while.

what a day

boy oh boy. still don't have my camera, had to use jenna's. everything is different. took forever to import the card, now i have a 100 of the same picture, will have to get her to help me delete them. i was hoping i would get my camera back, but i guess i will have to wait for the bride and groom to come back from aruba. this is 2 challenges in one, to use ribbon without using a knot or a bow, the other one is the clean and simple one. they are both on scs. sorry the picture is blurry i will need a lot of practice with her camera. when i get mine back i will have to start all over. just about 2 more weeks and school will start. i should start going to bed early, now so i will be ready for school. anybody watch true blood last night? great show, waiting for dexter to startin september.

Camera

went to jamie and tyler's wedding yesterday. had a great time, i even danced, i never dance. she looked beautiful and tyler was beaming.  i know they will have a great life together. now my problem , i left my camera on the table when i went home. i went to look at the pictures i took and there was no camera. i called the woodbound inn, where the reception was held, and they found the camera. tyler's mom has it now i'm trying to figure out how to get it before jamie and tyler leave for aruba. hopefully i will get it back so i can post more cards. if not i'll have to use jenna's (my daughter) camera and get mine back when the newlyweds get home. i have to go shower and go to work. sears is having a family and friends event tonight. it starts at 6 and ends at 9. if you are in the area stop in and save some money.

Friday the 13th

Today is Friday the 13th, hope nothing goes wrong today.  it's friday and payday that can't be all bad. today's card is 2 challenges in 1 from scs. you had to use buttons for one, and the other is to make a thinking of you, get well card or something of that kind. the real challenge is to give the card to someone as soon as possible. my mother has been complaining about her back for 2 weeks and she won't go to the doctor. so i'm giving her the card. i used an older stamp from su, the big shot and the score pal. i really want to get a score buddy, but i have to wait until i go back to school and get a real paycheck. i used su makers and some buttons. hope everyone has a good day. now time to get ready for work at sears.

Busy Day

i have a busy morning and then i have to work this afternoon until 9. not going to get much stamping done today. hopefully after work i can do the challenge over at scs. use buttons in your design, everyone has buttons so this should be easy, if i'm not too tired. i made this card for a friends anniversary. i love the window in this card. i used crumb cake card stock, and then colored with inks and the aqua brush. i used an embossing folder. i hope jess and dan will like it.

Wednesday Already

i can't believe it's wednesday already.  i think i'm getting this blogging thing down. i can upload a picture and put it where i want without getting my daughter. i'm wondering how i will have time to do this when school start backs up. i have time now with only the one job, come september with 2 i don't know.  i bet i can post a lot, then save and when i have a few pictures publish post.  live and learn. here is the card i made for jamie and tyler's wedding. she loves purple and i guess she is having purple in the wedding. i don't know what shade but i hope she likes the card. i used lavender lace and shimmery white. the paper and punches are all from su. have a great day. going to try to get in some stamping and then off to work later.

Reading and Cleaning

i've been cleaning today and i when i was done i decided to finish a book. it was very good and called true colors by Kristin Hannah. it is about a family of sisters, love and the ups and downs of families. i like all her books. so after i did the cleaning and reading i headed over to splitcoaststampers to check out the color challenge. it was to use poppy parade, baja breeze and crumb cake. here's what i came up with. i'm going to a wedding this saturday, so i have to think about a wedding card. maybe that will be my next post.

Muggy Monday Morning

it's 9:00 and it's already muggy.  have to go to work early today so i made cards early this morning. this is the clean and simple (CAS) challenge over at scs. it was a garden theme. i made 2 cards, one i used an embossing folder the other one i didn't. all materials are su, used pear pizzazz, (love that color green). blushing bride, and early espresso. yankees and red sox again today, i will have to sneak over and watch the game while i'm at work. go yankees. try and stay cool.

saturday is my favorite day of the week

i don't work at either job and i go out to breakfast with my husband. we run errands and then i come home and do some stamping. this is another card using uncharted territory from stampin' up. i thought it would make a cute scene using both stamps on one block. i love being able to see where i am stamping. used watercolor pencils and the aqua brush again. looks like a good masculine card to me.

no strawberries

i need lots of work on  my watercoloring. this is for the challenge over at scs, you have to use fruit or flowers from your garden. well, i don't have a garden, but i have some topsy-turvys. one is for tomatos and the other is for strawberries. i have lots of tomatos and no strawberries, so i was thinking maybe these house mouse mice have taken them away. i used su watercolor pencils and the aqua brush. the cardstock is from su, real red, and the others were scraps on the table so i'm really not sure of their names. the ribbon is non stampin up ribbon.

i'm still practicing

i received  this stamp set from stampin up in my recent order. i thought these would make good male cards. the name of the set is uncharted territory. i used su watercolor pencils with the aqua pen. i don't think they came out bad. i don't remember where the dp is from.

three owls

here is a card i made for scs challenge today. the challenge was to stick it, by using pins, sewing or anything that you could stick. well i used a stick. i got a bunch of goodies from stampin up the other day, and this owl punch was one of the thing. aren't these owls cute. i got the background from dawn griffith, you can see her beautiful work at dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com  i know she will never find this little blog but i want to thank her just the same. thank you dawn

2nd post

this is my second post. the first one worked well.  now i have to figure out how to do the picture of my card and write about it.  this is the color challenge over at splitcoaststamper.  you had to use riding hood red, early espresso and blushing bride colors. the extra part was to use something new.  well i got the butterfly stamp today. the stamp set is called butterfly prints. i used dazzling diamonds on the butterfly bodies, you really can't tell.  all in all i'm proud of the card and my second post.

My First Blogger Post

everyone has a blog, so i thought why not me. i don't know what i'm going to put here, or even if i will blog again. i'm not really good on computers, i can finally cut and paste with no problem. sooo i'm seeing if this blogging thing will go anywhere. i love to read and make cards. maybe i can post some cards if i can figure that out. i could also discuss some of the books i read. i work during the school year as a tutor in an elementary school. i also work part time a Sears, i've been doing that for the last 4 years and it's getting old. i'm not sure how much longer i will be doing that. well i guess this is enough blabbering. going to see if this works. bear with me.
